I just got back from Manipal. I attended Lagenda along with Malaysian Food Festival, an event held in Manipal, organized by the Malaysian students in Manipal. Finally get to indulge myself with awesome performances and goooood Malaysian dishes!
What I love about Manipal is (obviously not the small town of Manipal lol) the student life. The students are cool enough, sporting enough, enthusiastic enough, to work together and make the event a successful one. The performances include traditional malay dance, indian dance (by malay students hello!), western dance (my personal favourite), mimicry, singing, silat, fashion show dikir barat(from my uni) and many more.
I believe they're just as busy as other medical students (omg tak, they're in fact busier than us in bangalore - yes pls, my bf is always busier than me!), and still they're able to put a whole lot of effort to choreograph and practise the routines etc etc. Costumes pun gempak okay. I'm sorry for being jakun, I mean, I'm just a little (tipu) disappointed with the fact that my uni really lack of this trait. Like, semua orang pun malas malas malas malas malas nak involve malas nanti rugi weekend kena practise malas nanti kena spend duit malas just malas sebab bontot malas nak gerak. Ouh that mentality, i despise!
I know la we're living in this urban (oh really?) area where it takes hardly 20 minutes to reach the cinema, shopping mall, expensive restaurants etc etc u name it but still, is that the only way to enjoy uni life? Whether or not this place is boring, is really up to the students. Bak kata Baz la kan, kau nak uni buat event gempak2, tapi kau contribute sikit pun tanak, tau datang nak tengok nak makan nak complaint lepas tu balik. Wow habis VVIP la tu?
OK any critics from any coward anonymous who doesn't have balls to even tell the world who you are before start critisizing? lol.
p/s : i was told that the indian dance performance was done by some malay girls and GUYS, how sweeeeeet is thattt! and please note, they're not sissy!
